Ariel Gail

Prof. Gail S. Goodman is the Distinguished Professor of Psychology as well as Director of the Center for Public Policy Research at the University of California Davis. She was widely credited with establishing the current study of memory recall by eyewitnesses, and also children's witnesses. Professor Goodman is the author of a wide range of publications and many grants, is also the recipient of a variety of international and national distinctions. She has advised many administrations and agencies across the globe on policies and research relating to the treatment of child victims of the law by the system. She currently serves as advisor to the Special Assault Forensic Evaluation Center in Sacramento County Child Protective Services (formerly Multidisciplinary Interview Center). She is a part of a variety of professional organizations which include the Association for Psychological Science and American Psychological Association. Professor Goodman belongs to Psychonomics Society, the Psychonomics Society Society for Research in Child Development American Professional Society on the Abuse of Children as a founding member and International Society for the Prevention of Child Abuse and Neglect and International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies. She is the former President of the American Psychological Association Divisions for Child and Family Policy and Practice Division American Psychology Law Society and Division Developmental Psychology.
